Terms of Use

Last updated: August 6, 2026 · Applies to: Mochi — Desk Companion for macOS

1. The agreement

Mochi is sold through the Mac App Store and is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). Purchasing or using the app means you accept those terms and the ones on this page.

2. What Mochi is (and isn't)

Mochi is a lifestyle companion app: a pixel pet that reacts to visible signals like time at the screen, tired eyes, or a yawn, and invites you to take breaks. It is not a medical device, makes no diagnoses, offers no therapy, and its reads are playful observations, not health assessments. If you have concerns about eye strain, posture, or fatigue, talk to a professional.

3. Purchases, trial, and refunds

Mochi is free to download. Every feature is unlocked for the first 7 days — no payment information required. After the trial, the core companion remains free, and “Full Care” (ambient glances, every companion with up to fourteen on screen, Trends, calendar awareness) is available as a one-time in-app purchase or an auto-renewing subscription — both processed entirely by Apple. Subscriptions renew until cancelled in your App Store account settings; cancelling never removes anything your pet earned. No purchases are handled by us. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing you earned — pet, cosmetics, streaks, data — is ever taken away, purchased or not.

4. Your data

We collect nothing — see the Privacy Policy. Everything the app knows stays in local files on your Mac that you can read and delete.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its pixel-art characters, and this website are © 2026 Pham Van Ngoan. You may not redistribute or resell the app or its artwork.

6. Warranty and liability

Mochi is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.

7. Changes

If these terms change in a future version, the updated page will carry a new “last updated” date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
